Deen Lockhat

Welcome!

It is with great excitement and anticipation that I introduce myself as the new principal of our wonderful K-12 school. My name is Deen Lockhat, and I am honored to be joining this vibrant and close-knit community.

A bit about my journey: I graduated from the University of Alberta in 2010 with a Bachelor of Education, and furthered my studies with a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Management from Royal Roads University in 2018. Over the past 14 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and leading in the field of education in Rocky Mountain House, Innisfail, and Penhold. My professional path has been deeply fulfilling, and I am eager to bring my experience and passion to Bowden Grandview.

Having grown up in central Alberta, I am especially excited to be in a small-town setting, where the strong sense of community and close relationships make a profound impact on the educational experience. 

What excites me most about joining this school is the opportunity to embrace the unique aspects of a small school environment. I deeply admire the relationships and close interactions between staff, students, and families, and the way everyone comes together to support each other. I am committed to working collaboratively with all of you to continue building on Bowden Grandview’s rich traditions and to fostering an environment where every student can thrive.

I am genuinely looking forward to meeting each of you—students, parents, and community members—as we embark on this new chapter together. Your insights, ideas, and feedback will be invaluable as we strive to create an exceptional learning environment.
